Theresa Bowen Hatch

Theresa Bowen Hatch is a wife, mother, trial lawyer, businesswoman, entrepreneur, former journalist and writer and former on-air television news reporter. She is the founder of Bowen Hatch Law. Her legal career has focused exclusively on personal injury jury trials, exclusively representing people who are injured, and most of her cases involve traumatic brain injury and spinal injury.

Theresa has multiple seven and eight-figure jury verdicts and numerous seven-figure pre-trial settlements.

She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, a cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and a graduate of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College in Dubois, Wyoming.

Before pursuing a career in law, Theresa was a journalist. She worked as an on-air television news reporter and as a print and broadcast writer for the Associated Press. Her love of storytelling has carried over to her work as a trial lawyer. She bonds with her clients, lives their experiences and tells their stories.

As a lawyer, she has been mentored by, and worked with, some of the best trial lawyers in the country – all of them men. Over and over, she found that the trial skills she learned from them – what they did in trial and how they tried their cases – didn’t always work for her as a woman, and she wanted to help other women have access to the methods, skills, and support that would help them succeed better and faster.

She co-founded Trial By Woman to create a space for the female mentorship she wished she had and as a way to give back to the profession.

Theresa has received numerous professional accolades. She was named one of the San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Young Attorneys in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and was named one of the San Diego Daily Transcript's Top Attorneys in the Personal Injury field in 2014. She has been named the "Best of the Bar" in the Personal Injury field by the San Diego Business Journal, has been named a "Rising Star" and a "Super Lawyer" by SuperLawyers and has been named a Top Lawyer by San Diego Magazine.

Theresa practices law and teaches trial skills throughout the country. She lives with her husband and children in San Diego, California. She loves serving the world by creating resources and education to inspire other women to work together to maximize their value and the value of their cases.

Courtney Rowley

Courtney Rowley is the owner of The Rowley Law Firm. She is passionate about personal injury law and has practiced on her own for almost her entire career. Her work is mostly personal injury, with extensive experience representing victims of serious injuries, wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and medical malpractice. She is licensed in California, Wyoming, and Iowa.

Courtney has obtained over one hundred million dollars in verdicts and settlements for her clients. She spends an immense amount of time with her clients and their families. She finds that by spending time, getting to truly know her clients as human beings, she is better able to understand and translate their suffering and experience.

Courtney has been published in numerous publications across the country, including the Nevada Bar Association Journal and The Advocate.

She has studied and taught at the Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming, a college “dedicated to training and educating lawyers and judges who are committed to the jury system and to representing and obtaining justice for individuals, the poor, the injured, the forgotten, the voiceless, the defenseless and the damned, and to protecting the rights of such people from corporate and government oppression”.—Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College.

Courtney lectures nationally, speaking to other lawyers about trial work and finding human connection in trial. She has spoken at numerous bar associations and organizations, including the Nevada Bar Association, the Wyoming State Association for Justice, the Colorado Bar Association, the South Dakota Trial Lawyers, the Washington Trial Lawyers, Oregon Trial Lawyers, Iowa Association for Justice, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, Consumer Attorneys of California and Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles, among others.

Courtney practices with her husband, Nick Rowley, partner of Carpenter, Zuckerman and Rowley, one of the top trial lawyers in the country and author of Trial By Human, available on Trial Guides.

She lives in Ojai, California with her family. When she’s not busy you can find her on a long walk with her kids and dogs, or exploring new places with her family.
